From Kayaking to Cancun
June 12, 2021
Gunja and Aniket met at a mutual friend's birthday party (shoutout to Anisha!) in Charlotte, NC. Like the true gentleman he is, Aniket walked Gunja back to her car—chivalry isn’t dead, folks! Gunja then slid into his DMs to say thanks (smooth move), and Aniket wasted no time asking her on a kayaking date at the US Whitewater Center on June 18, 2021. Their first date lasted a whopping 10 hours, and by the end of it, they were already planning their next adventures.
Fun Fact: This was their first picture together—capturing the moment before they knew just how many more there’d be!

Fun Fact: Gunja and Aniket went skydiving on their third date—because dinner and a movie just weren’t extreme enough. Skydiving had always been on Gunja’s bucket list, and Aniket, fully embracing the YOLO (You Only Live Once) mindset, was all in. So, they quite literally took the plunge—out of a plane.
It was the most exhilarating experience of their lives. Little did they know, they weren’t just free-falling through the sky—they were also falling for each other. Talk about taking “falling in love” to a whole new level!

Gunja and Aniket took on Gatlinburg, TN, for a weekend getaway with friends. They stayed in a cozy cabin, went whitewater rafting (and miraculously stayed in the boat), and explored the charming streets of Gatlinburg. Between the adventures and endless laughs, one thing was clear—they make every trip unforgettable!

For their one-year anniversary, Gunja and Aniket hit Virginia Beach, where they jet skied, ate amazing food, and enjoyed the boardwalk. Their first year was filled with adventures, from Gatlinburg to Charleston to NYC—proving they’re always down for a good trip (and great food)!

Gunja and Aniket are HUGE Carolina Panthers fans—like, "scream-at-the-TV, wear-their-jerseys-with-pride" huge. This particular game was extra special because it was the Panthers’ first home win of the season against the Atlanta Falcons. The night was a total downpour, but a little (okay, a lot of) rain wasn’t going to stop them. They braved the weather, cheered their hearts out, and were rewarded with a Panthers victory. As “Sweet Caroline” blasted through the stadium, they sang along—soaking wet but absolutely ecstatic. This was just one of the many games they’ve attended, but let’s be real, wins like these always hit different! #keeppounding

They’re TWO! Gunja and Aniket celebrated their second anniversary in The Outer Banks, where they paraglided, explored lighthouses, and soaked up the Atlantic.. Year two was a whirlwind, taking them to Asheville, Charleston (again!), San Francisco, Atlanta, and Myrtle Beach. Safe to say, these two know how to turn every year into an adventure!

After countless unforgettable moments, Gunja and Aniket, with the blessings of their families, took a giant leap forward in their journey—moving in together! They transformed their house into a home, filled with love, laughter, and plenty of takeout nights, Netflix marathons (naturally with Harry Potter), and a growing list of home projects. This was by far their biggest adventure yet, and they couldn’t be more excited to share every moment of it together.

Gunja and Aniket embarked on their first international trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, spending Christmas with Aniket’s family. They stayed at the Hard Rock Resort, where they enjoyed an exciting catamaran ride, went ATV riding through the scenic terrain, and cherished quality time with loved ones. It was a holiday filled with adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories (and way too much Mama Juana).

THE PROPOSAL! Gunja had always dreamt of getting engaged in Italy, so Aniket, being the incredible planner he is, turned that dream into reality with a surprise summer trip! They began in Riomaggiore, where they spent three unforgettable days along the northern Italian coast, snorkeling in crystal-clear waters and dining at Michelin Star restaurants.
Next, they headed to the stunning Lake Como, where Aniket had a photoshoot planned—little did Gunja know, it was all part of a bigger plan. Surrounded by the beauty of Bellagio, Aniket got down on one knee and asked Gunja to be his forever. Of course, she said yes, at a breathtaking villa with a view to match the moment.
Fun fact: Aniket chose this perfect moment to propose on Gunja's parent's 30th wedding anniversary, making it an extra special day for their families!

Just when Gunja thought the surprises were over, Aniket pulled out the ultimate one—PIT TICKETS to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour in Milan, Italy! So, they drove back to Milan, and Gunja got to dance and sing her heart out to her favorite artist. It was the perfect mix of romance, music, and pure joy—truly the best proposal a woman could ever dream of

Gunja and Aniket celebrated their engagement with beautiful Hindu rituals from both families, surrounded by the love and warmth of their closest family and friends. Loved ones traveled from near and far to share in the joy and congratulate the couple. The night was filled with laughter, delicious food, drinks, and dancing—truly unforgettable moments. We are beyond grateful for all the love and support we've received. Now, let’s keep the celebration going in Mexico!
